Associate Medical Director

I. Position Summary
The Associate Medical Director overall accountability for all medical/scientific aspects of assigned brand across engagement channels with the clients of JOLT (medical education, consulting, KOL engagement, analytics etc.). The Associate Director ensures the medical/scientific accuracy and credibility for existing projects and supports business proposals, based on medical/scientific knowledge and clinical expertise.
II. Responsibilities
- Ensures consistency of medical messages and support across communication channels
- Regulatory expertise: Understands and can give guidance on core regulatory issues governing core delivery tactics and strategies of JOLT Communications, namely promotional medical education.
- Content expertise: Lead contact for internal and external team members on scientific content related to brand assignment; reviews materials (promotional material, educational materials, internal and external scientific materials of client deliverables for medical affairs, towards third parties such as clinical experts/key opinion leaders [KOLs] etc.) for scientific accuracy and appropriateness
- Answers a variety of day-to-day queries of medical/scientific nature related to currently assigned products and therapeutic categories
- Lends expertise with regards to analysis of clinical trials structure and data analysis
- Educates internal groups on disease and treatment backgrounds, profile new products and indications
- Develops and maintains relationships with client teams, client medical affairs and regulatory team
- Develops and maintains relationships with KOLs in therapeutic areas of brand assignments
- Acts as liaison between KOLs, clients, and internal groups
- Assists project teams by providing scientific input at critical junctures
- Familiarizes herself/himself with product R&D plans, marketing strategies and communications platforms, strategies and tactics
- Attends internal planning, strategy, start-up and tactical meetings to offer medical and scientific input
- Presents to clients and potential clients, as needed
- Identifies potential opportunities for existing products and new business efforts

IV. Requirements
- 5-7 years or more of relevant healthcare communications experience
- PhD, MD, or PharmD
- Professional advertising and/or promotional medical education experience required
- Multiple therapeutic area experience preferred
- Ability to travel (up to 30% of the time) including weekends
- Interest in the marketing field
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Good communication and consulting skills
- Computer programs (please list all software skills that are required and all skills that may be helpful but are not required)
- MS Office Suite (particularly PowerPoint, Excel)
- Data analytics software (SPSS or SAS)
